12:00-3:00p Design Collage Cards (FRONT ROOM Kirsten)
Tune into your creative energy and design your own collage card! Materials will be available for you to create and play. As we seed into Spring, let your imagination drive your vision forward. Kirsten Jones also facilitates SoulCollage® Playshops monthly at Threshold.
12:00 - 2:00p Springtime Poetry, Chant & Chat (EMBODY Dineen)
Using her voice which she lost for 3 years, and was told would never return, Dineen, spiritual life coach, will sing and read poetry from her two books, tying together an inspirational momentum to help us plant seeds of spiritual, emotional, and mental discovery in this momentous time of Spring Rebirth. Themes covered include our search for purpose, love, healing, divine union, ecstasy and oneness with nature. Her chants are intuitively and love-inspired and have been noted to create healing and peace. An opportunity for discussion and exchange follows.
2:00-3:00 Community Ritual and Circle Conversation: Turning and Trust
Especially potent at the change of a season, gathering together with intention can lead to humble and wise action. Find your individual agency this season and feel the power of a supportive collective. Efrat Livny has been studying and practicing circle for 15+ years. She utilizes circle practice as a foundation for community development, a vehicle for organizational management, and in her classes and workshops.
3:45 - 5:00 Guided Meditation and Labyrinth Walk (HUB Josie)
As we honor the turning of the season, a labyrinth walk is a wonderful tool to enter a tender space and time, to listen for the longings of your heart and receive offerings of Spirit. You are welcome to start with a guided meditation before entering the labyrinth or simply undertake this journey directly. The guided meditation invites us to gently notice our conditioned patterns of mind, body and heart and to intentionally soften those places within us, allowing more openness and ease. Bring your own slippers or socks as we kindly request that shoes be removed before entering. Josie Pradella will lead us through this mindful session.
3:45 - 5:00 Artist Reception and Talk (4:30pm) (FRONT ROOM/SUNSHINE ROOM Artist: Taylor Elkins)
WING SERIES presented by Taylor Elkins
Making art is how I strengthen my philosophical and spiritual ties to the natural world. I see myself as an integrated part of nature and nature and an integral part of me. To maintain this unity, I pursue a constant dialogue between myself and the environment. In my work I strive for a balance between my personality and the personalities of the subjects I draw. My goal is to create an equal dialogue where the give and take generate an end product that represents us both.
Taylor graduated from UW-Madison with a BS in Fine Arts, and San Francisco Art Institute with an MFA Printmaking. Taylor has taught both through the UW-Madison Extension and at the SF Art Institute, and has shown his artworks nationally, as well as locally in his hometown of Madison, WI.
