About the Event

This is our 4th workshop, in an unfolding series exploring the system of belonging operating in Madison that is not inclusive of all in our community.

On Saturday: we will explore the invisible inherited cost of European migration into Madison that fractured

families and helped to facilitate slavery.

On Sunday: we will begin to presence the unseen trauma and displacement of the peoples Native to Madison.

-----

History is far more complex and interconnected than we are taught in school. Traumatic events exert a force long after the participants have died. This force can be energetic or biologic as science has found that trauma can be genetically passed down the generations.

Ancestral trauma and wounding also affects how we move in the world individually and collectively. Belonging and safety are fundamental human needs that influence our beliefs,

reactions, and actions.

Unacknowledged ancestral trauma can prevent a compassionate

response to others and to ourselves and can create a place for fear, hate, and racism.

Transformation and healing are possible. Family Constellation is a therapeutic approach that allows the invisible influences from the present and past to be made visible, acknowledged and made whole. This process allows an individual or collective to uncover

the hidden historical narrative that they are unconsciously holding in order to bear witness and give place to the trauma before fully and freely moving forward with their own life.
