Yoga for Life
Stress is lurking around every corner. Pain walks right along side it. Anxiety, discomfort, and disease are not far behind. Let’s face it. It seems like nowadays, it seems like we know more people who are sick than healthy, maybe even including ourselves. It’s about time we’ve changed that, starting with you.
It may (or may not) be easy for some of us to confess we’re stressed, or that our bodies seem to feel a lot older than we’d like to admit. But there is something you can do about it. Prioritizing your health and well-being is the place to start. But now that you’ve bumped that up on the list, where do you being? Treating yourself with a little TLC everyday can go a long way. And yoga is where we can turn to find just the right dose.
Yellow Butterflies Yoga by Olivia Szymanski offers a system of yoga that is simple to learn, practical in its approach, and abounding in physical and mental benefits. Our mission is to bring to you a yoga practice that provides tangible benefits for your body as well as mental benefits that can give you a sense of completeness. There is a great need for a space where people can come and alleviate stress and pain, find balance, and live a life with confidence in their health and well-being. Whether a long-time practitioner of yoga or a first-timer, Yellow Butterflies Yoga is here to give you that space. This is Yoga for Life.
We practice classical hatha yoga taught in the Sivananda yoga tradition. A typical Sivananda yoga class is based on a core sequence of 12 basic poses that are considered to be the most beneficial to practice daily. Our classes are in the traditional style of entering and exiting a pose slowly and mindfully with concentration and focus on breathing. All classes start with breathing exercises, and continue with a warm-up of sun salutations and brief relaxations between poses, and a final relaxation.

• Do not eat a large meal 1-2 hours before class
• If you have any injuries, illness or concerns, please speak with the teacher prior to class.
• Please bring your own mat to the session. We have a few extra mats to lend if you do not have one.
• Wear loose, comfortable clothing that covers your shoulders, midriff.
• Arrive 10 – 15 minutes early if possible to give yourself time to relax and settle before class.
